Here's another one-take/roughcut of a great Replacements song. Though many version of this song exist, this particular cut can be found on their '87 album Pleased To Meet Me. I'm playing it in the Justin Townes Earle style with a capo on the second fret - this best suits my very limited & unresolved vocal range.
I drive a stick - I manually shift between gears while driving. The connection between myself, the vehicle and the road is one of poetry, a sublime orchestration of horsepower and timing.
The most exhilarating, 3rd gear. Nothing is better then down-shifting into 3rd while negotiating a tight corner, engine whining, tires dutifully holding the line.
Inspired, I want to design/build a pedal that is a sonic representation of that experience. An Overdrive pedal that borders on Distortion.
